There are generally four main ways anxiety's are commonley treated in the UK

Medication is usually the common treatment offered as the first line of treatment for your GP.This may work for some people.Anxiety can be in different forms, but unless someone has taken the time and trouble to identify the underlying issues and type of anxiety, stress or depression or  panic disorder, for many it is just like sticking a plaster on a plaster. It  is not dealing with the underlying issues and resolving the route cause.

Self medication:
Some people will search out information of the internet or ask friends what will help them.In some case looking for information on the internet can help you quickly identify what your symptoms are and treatment that may help. However this can also be fraught with some danger. There is some good information on the internet and some very helpful information, but there is is a lot of rubbish and miss information. It is there for prevalent t o ensure that what information your searching is accurate and relevant to you. Also the internet can not make an accurate one-to-one diagnosis in the same way as professional person seeing you in person can do.

Ignoring it:
Hardly a treatment, but yes many people ignore it,ignore they symptoms or get used to their anxiety for many years until the symptoms worsen and require attention.Ignoring symptoms or working around them, pretending they are not there, will in time just may the anxiety worse. There is no other way to put it, but by just ignoring any medical symptoms,in the hope that they will just go away is one of the most dangerous things to do.Yes not all symptoms require the most urgent medical attention, and yes some are in important and do just go away as quick and simply they came. But ignoring any symptoms that that persist, return are intermittent and seem to be hanging around a while is the best indicator that you should seek medical attention as there are underlying heath issues that may need attention.

Counselling can widely be misunderstood,It is often used as a generic word to cover a whole range of therapy's, but also many just considered to be talking about an issue.

In fact counselling only organisations tend to promote counselling wrongly as " allowing people to discuss their problems","encourage you to talk about what's bothering  them"," help you to find ways of coping." This implies that it is all about just talking about the problem.

But for may professionals in the mental and emotional heath treatment profession also includes other well proven therapies that actually add a practical aid to recovery:

These makes Makes these so Effective in Treating Anxiety and Stress and panic disorders.

Therapies Like:

CBT  (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy):  This is a therapy that has been proved to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, young people and children.CBT looks at how we think and how this affects the way we act and how we feel. The therapist and client work together in changing the client’s behaviours , or their thinking patterns, or both of these.

NLP ( Neuro linguistic programming): NLP encompasses three influential components involved in experience:   neurology, language   and   programming. It helps with the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how they affects our body and behaviour (programming).

Clinical Hypnosis : This   is using an altered state of awareness, perception or consciousness that is used,by approve and trained professionals for treating a psychological or physical problem. It is a highly relaxed state. Hypnosis   is a state of  concentration and focused attention that treats the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the part of our mind that controls and functions not just our bodies but everything we do.For example, you do not think to breath, your body does that all by its self, while you are awake, whilst you are a sleep, it breaths when you are relaxed, when you are exhausted, its the subconscious mind that is telling you body how much to breath, how much oxygen to take in, it is the subconscious mind that is sending the signals all over your body ,sending the signals to your lungs and muscles on how much to expand and contract depending on how much oxygen your body needs at any given second.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique): This is a relatively new therapy and is also referred to as "Tapping Therapy" or "Psychological acupressure". The technique works by tapping on certain Acupressure points of the body and releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. It is also now widely accepted that emotional disharmony can be a key factor in physical symptoms and for this reason these techniques are being used on physical issues, including chronic illness with often astounding results. As such these techniques are being accepted more and more in medical and psychiatric circles as well as in the range of psychotherapies and healing disciplines.

An EFT treatment involves the use of fingertips rather than needles to tap on the end points of energy meridians that are situated just beneath the surface of the skin. The treatment is non-invasive and works on the ethos of making change as simple and as pain free as possible.

The advance of these therapies is that they actually do include practical help that actually helps the client locate the underlying emotions and problems that are generating the anxiety and can re-calibrate these emotions and eliminate them and then remove and cure the anxiety.
